Machinima are an interesting and rapidly growing phenomenon, if we may call it that. They are movies created inside video games and virtual worlds. In this entry my goal is to maintain a convenient overview of web sites where you can find machinima to watch and download.

And if you find movies you like please consider submitting them to GameLapse for voting and reviews. You can also peruse the upcoming section for already submitted movies and post your votes and reviews on them, thereby deciding what gets on front page and the top charts.

Machinima.com

This is perhaps the most obvious and unsurprisingly the most popular choice. Machinima.com hosts a wide variety of machinima movies and series from all genres. It could be called the "youtube" of the machinima world. The site also features articles, news, contests, blogs and an active forum of machinima makers and enthusiasts. There is also a Machinima.com youtube channel.

Machiniplex

Like an online cinema, machiniplex allows you to enjoy great machinima movies at a click of a button, also allowing you to download the current movie. Great site.

GamerzTheatre.com

GamerzTheatre also hosts some machinima movies in a rather nice interface. Worth checking out.

Machinima Premiers

Machinima Premiers (mprem.com) features premiers of quality machinima movies. Just click on the title to see a screenshot and a link to where you can watch it.

High definition machinima on a great video site Vimeo.com.

Lionhead's "The Movies" site

Machinimas made with "The Movies" game. The Movies service was closed, but the site still links to some of the best machinima made with The Movies.

MovieStorm movies

Machinimas made with the MovieStorm animated movie making package.

HALO Movies

Machinima movies made in Halo FPS game. The site includes maps, blog and forums.

Warcraft Movies

Machinima made in World of Warcraft.

Sims99.com

Machinima made in Sims. Sims99 also includes a community forum, wiki and user blogs.

WeGame.com

Not all videos on WeGame.com are machinima, but it's a great video site and there are definitely some machinima to find.

EVE Online movies

Some epic EVE movies made by CCP (EVE Online creator).

GameTrailers.com

Trailers are often a form of machinima, since they usually display more than just gameplay. In the HD trailers section of GameTrailers.com you can find some of the latest game trailers in high definition quality.
